RAV3N

Directed by Julia Tarissan

KOKORO & Le Fresnoy – 2024
9 minutes – Color – Fiction

Synopsis

RAV3N is a short fiction film conceived as a tale for adults. The mood is dark, and hope is out of the picture. And this world is reflected in the images, which are full of black and rooted in a graphic filmography. We discover a city built on a garbage dump, where everything is rotten and moldy. Raven, a raven woman, lives on the outskirts of the social group. She was raped as a child by the chief of the kings, who happens to be her uncle.

Since then, the sun has never risen again, fed up with the actions of humans. Raven recounts the last hours of her life in an honest, cold tale, with no hope for life, but with great curiosity about death, its aftermath. Her strength and resilience lead her to the Counselor Tree, a fantastic being who accompanies her as she breathes her last.
